Section summary

In this final session of the numbers series, you will learn how to express numbers in American Sign Language, specifically focusing on numbers in the thousands.

  • To sign the number 1000, hold your hand up and say "1000."
  • When signing numbers in the thousands like 1678 or 1029, first sign "1000" then continue signing the remaining numbers.
  • For numbers beyond 1000 like 2000 or 5000, begin with "1000" and then sign the additional numbers to complete the figure.

You can combine the knowledge of numbers from 0 to 20, 30 to 50, and 50 to 100 to construct any number you wish to express in ASL by following these patterns. Feel free to reach out with any questions through your parents.
Thank you for joining us in learning ASL numbers. Goodbye!
